Supported Employment

  • Employment preparation and job searching

  • Job coaching

  • Provide support to the employer and follow-ups

  • Job development

The Goal of Supported Employment is to support individuals with an intellectual disability to find employment. Individuals are assisted with finding full time /part time employment within their community.

We assist employers in accessing available wage subsidies to help with their salary costs when they hire from our association.

Supported Employment provides recruitment, job searching services, job analysis, on the job training and job support for the length of time it takes the individuals to learn their job specific skills.

Once the training is complete the job coach continues to provide support to the employer/co-workers, as well as to the new employee.

The job coach will maintain regular visits to the job site to evaluate the employee’s performance and to discuss any concerns or any new job skills that may arise.
